President / CEO
As a founding member of Sovereign Property Management, LLC, Paul believed the foundation to building a successful organization was to hire the right team and to conduct business with Excellence & Professionalism of every level. Responsible for the overall management of the firm, Paul is focused on exceeding the financial goals of our clients and investors. Under his leadership, Sovereign Properties has been successful in acquiring properties, initiating action plans and improving the efficiency and profitability of all assets in the portfolio.
Before the inception of Sovereign Properties LLC, Paul held the position of CFO for Daisy Construction. With an annual sales volume over 60 million, Paul was responsible for directing all aspects of financial management and strategic planning for the company and its affiliates. Within the last few years, Daisy Construction has become active with real estate acquisitions and dispositions. Paul's responsibilities included identifying and analyzing acquisition opportunities and negotiating all transactions.
Prior to Paul's experience at Daisy Construction, he was a Partner in the Certified Public Accounting firm of Horty & Horty in Wilmington, DE.
Paul is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he earned a B.S. degree in Business and Accounting. In addition, Paul is a former President and current Treasurer of The Delaware Apartment Association.
When not working, Paul is a frequent visitor at the YMCA where he works on his general health and fitness. In addition, he plays in USTA tennis leagues and is an avid bicyclist. The long distance bicycling adventures most often involve raising money for charities. Lastly, Paul has a home in Bethany Beach, DE, where he spends time on a paddle board and enjoying an excellent glass of red wine.
Director of Maintenance
As Maintenance Director, Dean is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the maintenance operations including purchasing, budgeting and capital projects for Sovereign Properties. Focused on controlling expenses, Dean identifies and implements initiatives to improve the overall maintenance operations for all properties in the portfolio.
In 2010, Dean joined Sovereign Properties as Maintenance Supervisor for The Village of Canterbury, where he was instrumental in reducing the property maintenance expenses and maximizing NOI.
Dean has worked in the property management industry for 12 years is an active member of the National and Delaware Apartment Associations. Dean currently holds certifications in Electrical, Propane and HVAC.
When not working, Dean enjoys skeet shooting, spending quality time with his family and traveling the world.
Director of Residential Operations
Mike is responsible for all aspects of residential operations including the physical and financial performance of the properties. Mike oversees the day to day operations and develops and implements procedures to ensure consistently high standards of quality and productivity for all properties within the portfolio.
Mike started his career with Sovereign properties as an internal auditor and was quickly promoted to Compliance Director, where he achieved a total portfolio average monthly collection rate of 98%. Prior to joining Sovereign Property Management, Mike worked for the family business, Daisy Construction Company, where he learned, through hands on experience, all aspects of the construction and property management industries.
Mike is a graduate of Elizabethtown College, where he earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration.
When not working, Mike actively trains in Brazilian Juijitsu and has recently begun playing golf. In addition, Mike is a passionate Phillies fan.
Director of Commercial Operations
Nate is responsible for all aspects of operations for the commercial portfolio consisting of office buildings, shopping centers and industrial sites throughout Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Nate directs and coordinates activities of each property and all associated services and systems to obtain optimum efficiency and maximum profitability.
Nate has over 10 years of experience in the commercial and residential property management industry. Prior to joining Sovereign in 2014, he held key roles with respected companies such as Emory Hill Real Estate Services, Pettinaro, the Independence Mall, and W.L. Gore & Associates.
Nate is a graduate of The University of Delaware, where he earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration and a minor in Spanish. In addition, Nate obtained the Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation through BOMA.
In Nate's spare time he enjoys sailing, fishing, running, juggling, building furniture, and activities with his two sons. He is a trustee and volunteer at his church, as well as the president of the High Voltage Speakers Toastmaster club, a professional growth organization focused on developing leadership and communication skills.
Director of Compliance
Dan is responsible for ensuring all properties adhere to Sovereign's policies and procedures relating to resident screening and lease documentation. Dan oversees all collection efforts and court proceedings for the portfolio, minimizing corporate risk and liability.
Dan joined Sovereign in 2009 as an accounts manager for Village of Canterbury, where he was instrumental in reducing the property delinquency and maximizing the property's NOI.
Dan is a graduate of Elizabethtown College, where he earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration. He is an active member of the National and Delaware Apartment Associations.
In Dan's spare time he pursues his passions for traveling and automobiles and is active with charities that focus on helping people with diabetes.
